Speed Ripening Avocados

You want to make guacamole but your avocados are still hard?  Is your mouth watering for mangoes and papaya but they are still not ripe?  Bananas still a little green?  Here is a little trick to expedite the ripening process…..

Place the avocados (or mangoes, bananas, papayas) in a brown paper bag WITH a tomato, apple, OR banana and voila! Your fruit should then be ready to use in 1-2 days.

The apple or tomato in the brown paper bag produces and traps ethylene gas that speeds up the ripening process.

Never store unripe fruit in the fridge as it actually retards the ripening process.

Mmmmmmm…..guacamole time!!
