Raw, healthy,delicious, and easy! Raw cacao is energizing and high in antioxidants. A tasty guilt-free treat!
You will need:
3/4 cup raw cacao or carob powder
2 Tbsp organic extra-virgin coconut oil (this is the key ingredient to make melt in your mouth truffles!)
3 Tbsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp chia or flax seeds
2 Tbsp sesame seeds
Mix into a paste with a fork in a bowl (or use a food processor). If too dry, add a tad more sweetener. If too wet, add a little more powder. Before you start rolling into balls, try it first. It should taste really good! If it doesn’t, add a bit more sweetener until you love it!
Optional Additions: fresh ginger, fresh mint, real vanilla (no alcohol), cinnamon and/or nutmeg, grated orange rind, cayenne pepper, raw oats, greens powder, organic almonds, cashews, peanuts, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, raisins, organic unsweetened coconut.
A good quality organic extra virgin coconut oil will taste delicious and provide a nice coconut flavour when you just taste it right our of the jar…I have found that some lesser quality coconut oils are bland.
Roll the chocolate mixture into little balls, and store in fridge or freezer. I really enjoy them out of the freezer and thawed out for a few minutes so they are not too cold or too hard.
Try not to eat the whole plate…they’re that good!
