BAHAMAS DETOX 2014:
Here are some of the popular Gracious Living DETOXIFYING, LIVE soup recipes from the 10 Day Juice Fast & Detox in the Bahamas at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat with 28 people from around the world. Next one in the Bahamas is April 27-May 6, 2014, followed by the Gracious Living 3 Day Raw Food Retreat: May 8-10, 2014.
For optimal body cleansing and organ detoxification, these soups are best eaten at room temperature or chilled.
Creamy LIVE Sprout Soup
1/2 cucumber 1 celery stalk 1 handful romaine lettuce 1 avocado 1 red apple 1 peeled lemon 1 handful parsley 1 handful of baby sunflower sprouts
Sea salt to taste Fresh garlic to taste Cayenne pepper to taste 2 cups water
Variations:
*Add a hunk of ginger *Add some chia gel for extra protein *Add some hemp seeds for extra protein
Blend till creamy & smooth. Enjoy right away or chill for a few hours for more flavour.
Gracious Living Creamy Cilantro Veggie Soup
1 red pepper 2 radishes 1/2 tomato Handful of sunflower sprouts (or dark green leafy veg) 1/2-1 avocado Handful cilantro 1 tsp Ergogenics Organic Whole Greens Powder Chunk ginger Sea salt 3-5 cups water or make-it-yourself almond milk
In a blender, combine all ingredients and purée until smooth. Transfer soup to bowl and serve immediately (or keep chilled until ready to serve).
Gracious Living Watermelon Gazpacho
1-2 cup seeded watermelon handful of cilantro (amazing for heavy metal detoxification) 1-2 tbsp chia gel 1 cucumber without skin Sea salt to taste Fresh garlic to taste
Blend till creamy & smooth. Enjoy right away or chill for a few hours for more flavour.
Gracious Living Almond Kale Orange Soup
Handful kale
Handful romaine lettuce
1 red pepper
1 cucumber
1/2 zucchini
1 whole orange
Handful of sunflower sprouts
1 tsp rosemary
1 tsp kelp or dulse flakes
2 cups almond milk
Sea salt to taste
Fresh garlic to taste
